Vince and Jeff forgot to do a Sporcle quiz last week, but we're back with a good one this week. You should take it too! It is:

Can you name the 1980's Los Angeles Dodgers?

Considering that Jeff was actually alive in the 1980s, it's not surprising that he beat Vince on this one.

We had a few mailbag questions we answered, and then we discussed our topics. Vince wanted to talk about whether the Rockies are going to stay good all year, and Jeff wanted to talk about Clayton Kershaw's "struggles" so far.

Today's game starts in three hours, and Kershaw will hopefully break this little losing streak the team is on. Go Dodgers!

Episode 50 got interrupted a few minutes in when Jeff's wife called and asked him to go pick up his sick son at school. We thought about editing it out, but we decided it was important for the listeners to hear Jeff's ringtone. We answered a few mailbag questions, and then a few questions tied into the topics we wanted to discuss.

Jeff's topic was whether the Dodgers should stick with a six-man rotation, but with Clayton Kershaw still starting every fifth game. We discussed the merits and drawbacks of that plan.

Vince's topic was about the injury to Andrew Toles in last night's game and what the Dodgers should do if he's out for a while. We discussed the possibility of prospect Alex Verdugo filling that spot.

Thanks for listening. Please keep sending in your mailbag questions. And follow us on Twitter! @ScullyAve @VinceSamperio @snidog

We started Episode 49 with the weekly Sporcle Challenge, in which Jeff and Vince both took this Sporcle quiz and you should too:

Can you name the Dodgers players who have received Cy Young votes?

Then we did the Dodgers mailbag, although most of the questions were about Cody Bellinger, so we skipped them until we got to the point of the show where we spent 20 minutes talking about Cody Bellinger. In between, we talked about the back-to-back-to-back homers in the ninth inning of Saturday's game, including Joe Davis's masterful call(s).

We had so many mailbag questions today that we just focused on them. But first, we did our Sporcle challenge, wherein Jeff and Vince both take the same Sporcle quiz and then compare results. You should take the quiz now (or when Jeff gives the cue during the episode) and compare your results. Today's quiz:

Can you name the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers All-Time HR Leaders?

In our discussion of the quiz, we also talked about Joe Ferguson's catch and throw in the 1974 World Series, which you can watch here. And you really should watch it if you've never seen it.

After the Sporcle challenge, we answered your Twitter questions, and we covered pretty much everything of interest to Dodgers fans.

We have a new feature: Jeff and Vince go head-to-head to see who is better at Dodgers-related Sporcle quizzes. This week's quiz: Dodgers Nicknames. Take the quiz, then listen and see if if you did better or worse than Vince and Jeff. Let us know on Twitter if you beat us!

We answered a few mailbag questions, one of which led into Vince's topic: What would it take to get Ryan Braun? We also talked about whether we want the Dodgers to get Braun at all. Then we discussed Jeff's topic: What's up with Adrian Gonzalez? The answer will shock you.

We started and ended with some "Clayton Kershaw is awesome" stuff, cuz that's how we roll. Thanks for listening! Follow us on Twitter: @ScullyAve @snidog @VinceSamperio

Vince put out a call for questions right as the Dodgers were failing to score with bases loaded and no outs, so the questions were a little bit more negative than usual. But it was a good crop of questions, and Jeff even did some research to answer one of them! We did a long mailbag segment (including some discussion of ESPN's broadcast of the Dodgers/Cubs game -- oh, who are we kidding? The Cubs game), then talked a bit about Rich Hill's blisters and Adrian Gonzalez's desire to bunt against the shift.

Jeff and Vince talk about the Dodgers' recent roster moves and the few moves left to be made. The starting rotation is set, the bullpen is set, and there are only three question marks left on the bench. Come for the Dodgers roster analysis, stay for Jeff's impression of Christopher Russo.

Vince and Jeff answered some Dodgers questions in the mailbag, and then Jeff went on one of his "I love Clayton Kershaw" tangents. We talked about spring training, and then we talked about the World Baseball Classic, both as it related to the Dodgers and in general. More discussion of Adrian Gonzalez's WBC gripes, Rob Manfred's inability to ever say "NO," and Adam Jones' boneheaded decision to take whiteboard material public AFTER the championship had already been won. We ended with Jeff talking about two things he remembers from a 2012 Dodgers/Padres game, one of which might amuse you.

NOTE: If you do not want to hear the reading of an off-color tweet about Charley Steiner, skip 15 seconds beginning at the 9:10 mark.

We had quite a few good questions today for our mailbag, and the answers were decent, too. After that, Vince and Jeff just talked a bit about the World Baseball Classic (and specifically the Dodgers who have been playing in it) and general spring training notes. Be sure to mark your calendars for this Sunday, when Clayton Kershaw turns 29 years old!

In this episode, Jeff and Vince talk about general Dodgers spring training stuff for a while, then move on to a discussion of whether we like when players from our team play in the World Baseball Classic. For the end of the episode, Jeff tells about his trip to spring training with his son. Several fun and/or amusing anecdotes.

Episode 41 is on Vince's birthday, and Jeff forgot to upload it before leaving the house, so now he's uploading from his phone and the description sucks because he's an old man who hates typing with his thumb. But the episode is really fun, so listen!

Roses are red,
Dodgers are blue,
Here is a podcast
We made just for you.

We answered some questions
From listeners like you,
Including discussion
Of the roster's who's who.

Then Vince chose a topic
Of current import:
Spring training is starting!
Time for the best sport!

Jeff's topic was less
Of a timely affair:
On hating ballplayers --
Is it right? Is it fair?

So thank you for listening
(Assuming you do).
We'll be back next Tuesday
With more just for you.

In this episode, Joe Davis joins Vince and Jeff to talk about all things Dodgers. Topics include working in a three-man booth, his heartbreak when his friend Matt Moore got traded to the Giants, use of advanced stats during broadcasts, his broadcasting mentors, and a ton of other things. Thanks to Joe for joining us.

Not a ton going on in the Dodgers world today, so Jeff and Vince answered some listener questions, talked about the bullpen options, and talked about Dodgers trivia. Here's a link to the Sporcle quiz mentioned in the episode -- take the quiz before you listen if you want to! https://www.sporcle.com/games/lineupquizzes/Dodgers

Most of today's episode is a discussion of the Dodgers' acquisition of second baseman Logan Forsythe in exchange for pitching prospect Jose De Leon. We talked about the fan reaction, how it affects the lineup, and what it might mean for Chase Utley's future, among other things.
