In this episode, Jeff and Vince talk about general Dodgers spring training stuff for a while, then move on to a discussion of whether we like when players from our team play in the World Baseball Classic. For the end of the episode, Jeff tells about his trip to spring training with his son. Several fun and/or amusing anecdotes.

Episode 41 is on Vince's birthday, and Jeff forgot to upload it before leaving the house, so now he's uploading from his phone and the description sucks because he's an old man who hates typing with his thumb. But the episode is really fun, so listen!

Roses are red,
Dodgers are blue,
Here is a podcast
We made just for you.

We answered some questions
From listeners like you,
Including discussion
Of the roster's who's who.

Then Vince chose a topic
Of current import:
Spring training is starting!
Time for the best sport!

Jeff's topic was less
Of a timely affair:
On hating ballplayers --
Is it right? Is it fair?

So thank you for listening
(Assuming you do).
We'll be back next Tuesday
With more just for you.

In this episode, Joe Davis joins Vince and Jeff to talk about all things Dodgers. Topics include working in a three-man booth, his heartbreak when his friend Matt Moore got traded to the Giants, use of advanced stats during broadcasts, his broadcasting mentors, and a ton of other things. Thanks to Joe for joining us.

Not a ton going on in the Dodgers world today, so Jeff and Vince answered some listener questions, talked about the bullpen options, and talked about Dodgers trivia. Here's a link to the Sporcle quiz mentioned in the episode -- take the quiz before you listen if you want to! https://www.sporcle.com/games/lineupquizzes/Dodgers

Most of today's episode is a discussion of the Dodgers' acquisition of second baseman Logan Forsythe in exchange for pitching prospect Jose De Leon. We talked about the fan reaction, how it affects the lineup, and what it might mean for Chase Utley's future, among other things.

Vince brought a non-Dodgers topic today, asking about the weird dynamic around PEDs and Curt Schilling's controversial status. Jeff brought two Dodgers topics: a rumination about the volatility of a few of the guys showing up in vastly different spots on various prospect lists, and the idea of Chris Taylor being the starting second baseman (or trade fodder for Javy Baez).

Lots of questions today regarding the stalled Brian Dozier trade talks. The Dodgers will have a second baseman, but no one knows who it will be, including Vince and Jeff. We also talked about why it's not a big deal that the Dodgers haven't signed any non-returning free agents, partly because the three returning free agents were three of the top four free agents on the market, and partly because they were already a really good team with plenty of built-in room for improvement.

Vince's topic was who your favorite team would be if the Dodgers ceased to exist. A pretty lengthy discussion about that led to this week's Question of the Week, which is actually three questions:

If the Dodgers moved to Montreal and became the Montreal Dodgers, would your fandom follow them or would you find a new favorite team? What if they became the Montreal Mounties? And finally, what if they were the Montreal Dodgers but they changed their color scheme to orange and black?

In this episode, Vince and Jeff had their first draft, choosing a team of players who played well for the Dodgers but played more in their careers with another team. The first two picks in the draft with Mike Piazza and Manny Ramirez; you'll have to listen to find out the rest.

Also, during our mailbag segment, we accidentally gained a sponsor: @DipdTruck, which appears to be a food truck that does French dip sandwiches. Jeff and Vince are both firm supporters of food trucks and French dip sandwiches, so whether they like it or not, they are now our sponsor.

A lot of mailbag questions about Brian Dozier today, so Vince and Jeff spent quite a while talking about him. Several other good questions too, and we spent some time talking about the Dodgers re-signing Kenley Jansen and Justin Turner. We talked about Bryce Harper's $400 million hopes and Andrew Friedman's thoughts on rational front offices, too.

In episode 32, Vince and Jeff answered listener questions, including many about the Dodgers' pitching staff. Vince discussed whether the Dodgers should have extended Kenley Jansen before the 2016 season, and Jeff discussed the exact date on which Clayton Kershaw cemented his status as a Hall of Famer.

Happy birthday to Vin Scully!

Today, Vince and Jeff talked Dodgers on a slow news week. Vince's topic was Julio Urias and the Dodgers' approach and handling of him next season. Jeff's topic was a rambling mishmash of thoughts about what their offseason direction should be. Conclusion: Improve everywhere.

Vince and Jeff each brought their own Dodgers-related topic to today's episode. It just so happens that it was basically the same topic: retired numbers. Should Fernando Valenzuela's number be retired? What other numbers should the Dodgers retire? Listen up to learn what we think.

We also had a lot of good listener questions today, so thanks for that. And this is guaranteed to be the only podcast today that will mention Brent Cookson or Jeff Kubenka, let alone BOTH of them.

In this episode, Vince Samperio and Jeff Snider take questions from our listeners about possible trades, re-signing Kenley Jansen and Justin Turner, and a few other things. Vince's topic was the minor league system and which, if any, prospects should be considered "untouchable." Jeff's topic was Yasiel Puig's development and whether there have been flaws exposed in his game that would have been identified in the minor leagues for less naturally gifted players.

Vince Samperio and Jeff Snider discuss the pros and cons of winning without winning the World Series, as well as the merits of giving up draft picks to sign free agents. The episode ends with Jeff finding out his wife's car broke down.
